Asked to get out of the vehicle and show the documentation concerning the vehicle and the load, the driver showed a extremely nervous attitude, thus leading the operators to suspect that something illicit could be transported inside the truck.

Suspicions increased when the subject, in an attempt to divert attention, spontaneously went to the back of the trailer to show the accompanying document and intact seal on the tailgate. This behavior prompted the officers to proceed to check the tractor for the possible presence of illegal immigrants.

The verification allowed us to find a large quantity of narcotic substance: 200 blocks of cocaine, with a total weight of approximately 230 kg, contained in seven sports bags and some canvas bags, placed on the upper bunk of the cabin and in some of its compartments. The large quantity of drugs seized, if placed on the market and considering that it is pure cocaine, could have been worth up to 50 million eurosThe vehicle and the seized substance were placed at the disposal of theJudicial authority competent.

The Slovakian citizen was accompanied to the border offices in Ventimiglia, identified and arrested for international drug trafficking. It was then associated with the Sanremo Prison and made available to the Judicial Authority.
