Imperia: thefts in commercial establishments and parked cars, arrests and reports by the Carabinieri.
The Carabinieri of the province of Imperia have intensified their territorial control activity, focusing mainly on combating property crimes, which tend to register a significant increase as the Christmas holidays approach.
In particular, in Sanremo last night, the Carabinieri of the Radiomobile Section reported at large a twenty-two-year-old from Sanremo and a forty-three-year-old woman of Brazilian origins, believed to be jointly responsible for an aggravated theft.
The two, taking advantage of the darkness and the fact that at this time of year the city is less lively, improvised a "break-in" to the detriment of a bar in Piazza degli Eroi Sanremesi from which, apart from the considerable damage to the entrance door due to it being forced open, they only managed to steal around two hundred euros of cash and a few bottles of liquor.
Yesterday evening, in Bordighera, the Carabinieri of the Radiomobile Unit arrested in flagrante delicto a thirty-two year old Algerian responsible for aggravated theft inside a van used for the delivery of drugs.
The man, with the complicity of a woman of Moroccan origin, waited for the driver to move away to make some deliveries and, taking advantage of the situation, got into the van stealing a latest generation smartphone.
The man is currently at the disposal of the Judicial Authorities, awaiting the summary trial, while the woman has been reported at liberty for having participated in the crime.
Still in Bordighera, in recent days, a thirty-year-old Romanian citizen was identified by the Carabinieri of the local station as the possible perpetrator of at least two clothing thefts from a commercial establishment in via Vittorio Emanuele, committed between 19 and 20 November last.
Finally, in Dolceacqua, in recent days a thirty-year-old Moroccan was arrested in flagrante delicto for aggravated theft of several parked cars.
The foreigner, after having collected only a few pennies and some objects by breaking the windows of more than ten parked cars, was caught in the act by one of the owners of the vehicles while rummaging through his car. Having fled into the woods, he was then caught and arrested by the Carabinieri of the local station.
