In recent weeks, the counter-terrorism activity of the Carabinieri of the Provincial Command of Imperia against theft and fraud in the province it has become increasingly widespread, allowing, always with the necessary collaboration of the citizens, the achievement of significant results.
The Carabinieri are looking for the legitimate owners of some jewelry, cell phones and material various that the Radiomobile Section of the Imperia Company found and seized in recent days during a police operation carried out in the city centre and which also allowed the discovery two campers stolen.
The seizure was the result of a check carried out in an area of Vespucci seafront parking lot following which the carabinieri found in the possession of some Roma nomads two campers were found to be stolen, the first in Greece, last August, while the second, owned by German citizens, was stolen in Sarzana on 13 September.
A more thorough check allowed us to find inside the vehicles some plastic bags containing numerous gold jewelry, including chains, rings, wedding rings and more.
At the time of discovery, the two women who had access to the campers were unable to justify the possession of the aforementioned material, which was seized pending further investigation.
These are numerous jewels and valuables that are believed to be the proceeds of thefts committed in Liguria in recent days for which it has not yet been possible to trace the owners. The value of the stolen goods amounts to over 10 thousand euros and all the objects, recovered by the Carabinieri, were catalogued and the two women were denounced at liberty to the Judicial Authority.
