The man was reported to the Public Prosecutor's Office at the Court of Imperia for the crimes of escape and failure to provide assistance.

Dolceacqua: the alleged hit-and-run driver has shown up at the police station.

The alleged hit-and-run driver presented himself at the police station after being involved in a road accident that occurred along the provincial road of Val Nervia, between the municipalities of Dolceacqua and Isolabona, in which a 16-year-old girl was injured.
The driver, a 43-year-old of Albanian origin and resident in a neighboring municipality, for reasons currently being investigated, collided with his pick-up truck and the scooter driven by the young woman, causing her to fall to the ground and moving away without providing any assistance.
After the accident, the girl was airlifted to the Santa Corona Hospital in Pietra Ligure with a yellow code of medium severity.
Late in the evening, the driver of the car spontaneously showed up at the Carabinieri station in Dolceacqua, claiming that he had not noticed what had happened.
The man was reported to the Public Prosecutor's Office at the Court of Imperia for the crimes of escape and failure to provide assistance.
Further checks are underway by the military to reconstruct the exact dynamics of the accident.
