The Carabinieri of the Operational and Radiomobile Nucleus of Imperia and of the Badalucco Station they arrested a twenty-year-old from Naples held responsible for aggravated fraud against a ninety-one-year-old woman of the small municipality in the hinterland of Imperia.
The young man had been identified the evening before his arrest as a potential fraudster from the Carabinieri of the Imperia Company, suspicious of the fact that a twenty-year-old boy, alone, dressed in a jacket and tie and, for no apparent reason, was wandering around the small towns of the hinterland on board a Fiat 500.
The suspicions became somewhat more well-founded when The following morning, several calls were made to 112 from residents in the hinterland, who reported having been contacted by a self-styled lawyer, who informed them of the arrest of one of their relatives. The Carabinieri began searching for the Fiat 500 X used by the boy, which was located in the town of Badalucco. The military then searched the B&B where he was staying in Dolcedo and, in a suitcase, they recovered other gold jewellery weighing approximately 240 grams.: it was the proceeds of another similar scam committed the day before in Sestri Levante.
