Bordighera: another supermarket robbery, he steals spirits, attacks a supermarket security guard and runs away, arrested by the Carabinieri.

Last evening, the Carabinieri of the Radiomobile Unit of the Bordighera Company arrested in flagrante delicto a 51-year-old Algerian citizen, without a fixed abode, illegal in Italy, known to the police, for having perpetrated a robbery this time inside a supermarket in the city of palms.
After entering the business and taking possession of several bottles of spirits, the man attempted to exit by bypassing the cash registers and evading payment.

Noticed by the security guard right near the exit, a violent fight ensued during which it is not excluded that the foreigner may have also pulled out a blunt object with which he threatened the security guard who, in an attempt to stop him, suffered some minor bruises, fortunately judged curable in a few days by the staff of the Bordighera Emergency Room who then treated him.

The immediate request for intervention made to 112 by the supermarket employees and the timely arrival of the Carabinieri patrol made it possible to track down the perpetrator of the crime not far from the supermarket and arrest him red-handed for attempted improper robbery and assault.
After the formal procedures, the arrested person was held in the security cells of the Bordighera Company at the disposal of the Judicial Authority.
The trial was held at the Court of Imperia, at the end of which the foreigner was sentenced to four months in prison and a fine of 800 euros.
