Bari covid emergency: new union ordinance
Ban on take-away of food and drinks from 18 pm and suspension of retail sales activities from 00 pm
Mayor Antonio Decaro signed a new ordinance this afternoon which provides, starting from tomorrow, Thursday 11th, and until Sunday 28th March:
- the ban on the take-away of food and drinks from 18.00 pm for all catering activities included in the ATECO Code 56 (including bars, pubs, restaurants, ice cream parlors, pastry shops, food trucks, etc.) and for all retail activities detail of drinks in specialized establishments included in the ATECO Code 47.25;
- the closure of food and drink vending machines 24 hours a day from 18.00 pm to 7.00 am the following day;
- with reference to the entire municipal territory, the suspension from 19 pm of retail sales activities (with the exception of the sale of food, newspapers and periodicals, medicines and medical articles, flowers and horticultural articles, tobacco, fuels for domestic and automotive fuels, funeral items) both in neighborhood businesses and in medium and large sales structures, even if included in shopping centres, and without prejudice to the closures on holidays and days before holidays referred to in art. 26 co. 2 Prime Ministerial Decree of 2 March 2021
The new provision was also necessary in light of the data shared this morning during the meeting of the Metropolitan Committee for public order and safety in which the general director of the ASL Bari and the director of the Prevention department highlighted an exponential increase in new cases and a weekly cumulative incidence of infections, already starting from February 22nd, exceeding 250 cases per 100.000 inhabitants, with a weekly index still growing (index 287,4 in the week up to March 7th, with 3.536 new weekly cases and furthermore, on March 9th alone, 797 new cases were recorded in the province of Bari).
