At Villa Fabbricotti the photographic exhibition celebrating Italian sport.

The travelling exhibition will be inaugurated today, Friday 14 February, at 17.00pm at the Biblioteca Labronica F.D.Guerrazzi, at Villa Fabbricotti “All the Shades of Blue”, organized by ANAOAI, the National Association of Olympic Athletes and Italian National Teams on the occasion of its 75th anniversary.

The inauguration of the exhibition

The Mayor of Livorno will be present at the inauguration Luca Salvetti and the national president of ANAOAI Novella Calligaris, the first Italian to win an Olympic medal in swimming at the 1972 Munich Olympics and the first Italian swimmer to set a world record at the 1973 World Championships in Belgrade and the president of the Livorno section Rodolfo Graziani.

The arrival in Livorno of the installation dedicated to the Italian sporting memory represents a tribute to the great protagonists of Italian sport. This exhibition aims to be a hymn to sport in all its nuances, highlighting the Italian feats and the values ​​that have always characterized them.

The selected photographs tell stories of inclusion, commitment, resilience, fun and friendship. They are images that convey the principles of sports ethics and culture inspired by Olympic ideals, focusing attention on the Maglia Azzurra, which has always been a symbol of solidarity, breaking down physical and psychological barriers, integration and promotion of culture, sports and beyond.

The exhibition includes 40 carefully selected shots from Novella Calligaris, with the graphic direction of Imma Cherry Blossom. To enhance the exhibition, there will also be newspaper articles and historical photographs that tell the story of the exploits of the Athletes Azzurri Livorno. A journey through time that starts with Federico Caprilli, inventor of modern horse riding, passes through the exploits of the fencing legend Nedo Nadi and the Scarronzoni, rowing legends, up to modern champions such as Fabrizio Mori, Aldo Montano, Giulia Quintavalle, Gabriele Detti and Christian Volpi.

This installation is not only a celebration of the past, but also a way to inspire new generations to sport through images and words.

The journey into the Azzurro world that is touring Italy will be open to visitors in Livorno until next 28 February.
