Robbery, injuries and drugs in Grosseto, 4 arrests.

The Carabinieri of the Investigative Unit of the Provincial Command of Grosseto have executed a custodial order in prison, against four people, three men and a woman, accused, to varying degrees, of aggravated robbery, personal injury, extortion, possession and dealing of narcotics.

The operation was triggered when the Grosseto military moved in force to the province of Perugia, where the subjects targeted by the measure had been traced, after a specific search activity.

The Carabinieri of that province also participated in the operation, providing assistance and logistical support to their colleagues from Grosseto.

One of the four suspects, however, was identified and tracked down near Viareggio. The investigation, coordinated by the Public Prosecutor's Office of Grosseto, had started from a violent attack, which occurred about two months ago, following which two foreign subjects had been surrounded and brutally beaten.

The same had suffered fractures to the limbs and various wounds from a knife. After the attack, a car, which later turned out to be driven by the arrested woman, had dropped them off in front of the Emergency Room of the Grosseto Hospital.

The investigations started right from the entrance of the two subjects into the local hospital. Well, it was possible to reconstruct a solid circumstantial framework, which made it possible to understand that it was the man and woman targeted by the measure who organized and carried out the ambush against the remaining two. Other people, currently unidentified, also participated in the beating.

The victims, however, once they arrived at the hospital, had provided a version of events that immediately appeared reticent and mendacious. The two, certainly aware of the identities of their attackers, had provided an implausible reconstruction of the facts, not even mentioning that, at the same time as the attack, a quantity of over half a kilo of cocaine had been stolen from them (a circumstance that emerged during the investigations ).

The investigation activities revealed that the attack was linked to drug dealing and, in particular, to differences that arose between the two attacked subjects and the third man reached by the precautionary measure.

Furthermore, it emerged that the two attacked men, under the threat of providing the investigators with the names of the attackers, extorted a substantial sum of money from the latter.

A thriving activity of dealing in narcotic substances such as cocaine and hashish was also found, which was apparently managed by the promoter and perpetrator of the robbery, with the decisive participation of the woman. The Carabinieri's investigations were condensed into a report which promptly highlighted the elements that emerged against the people involved.

Having identified the situation in question, the Public Prosecutor's Office of Grosseto requested the Judge for Preliminary Investigations to issue the precautionary custody orders in prison carried out by the Carabinieri.
