Ribolla (Grosseto): Man arrested for production and trafficking of marijuana.

Yesterday afternoon, the Carabinieri of the station It boils proceeded to arrest a local man for illicit production, trafficking and possession of narcotic or psychotropic substances, pursuant to article 73 of the Consolidated Law on Narcotics.

In the early afternoon, a patrol found itself in transit near a farm, from where they noticed a man who at their sight he quickly moved away towards the Mediterranean scrub behind this farm.

Noticing this unusual circumstance, the Carabinieri they immediately started looking for the subject, shortly after finding a man who claimed to be the owner of the property. From the room on the ground floor of the farm, a strong odor came from, which the military recognized as typical of plants marijuana.

The Carabinieri asked the person for explanations and received evasive answers they carried out further checks, proceeding to search the premises: inside, a real laboratory was discovered, with dozens of marijuana plants attached to the ceiling beams to dry.

In other rooms, there were tools for cultivating and processing the narcotic, including tools useful for extracting the plant's oil, as well as dozens of other plants in the growth phase, assisted by fans, halogen lamps, automatic sprinklers. The finished product was also found, packaged for subsequent sale or stored inside plastic jars as well as in black bags.

Outside the farm, hidden by a greenhouse, About 50 plants were found in the open ground, with an average height of 1 metres, in full development.

The greenhouse was also equipped with all the necessary precautions to make the plantation flourish, as it was. The vastness of the surrounding area, and the difficulty of proceeding with an immediate check, aimed at finding other corners dedicated to the cultivation of marijuana, made the intervention of the Carabinieri helicopter useful, coming from the 4th Nucleus of Pisa. San Rossore, which from above monitored with special on-board instruments all the scrub around the farm, giving a decisive contribution to the identification of further areas of interest.

The amazing thing found, around 50 adult plants, 65 in pots and around 100 kg. of dried marijuana, was seized, while the man who owned the farm, to be considered presumed innocent until the final determination of responsibility with an irrevocable sentence, was arrested.
