Gorizia: extraordinary control of the Isonzo territory by the Carabinieri of the provincial command with the use of the helicopter.
The military personnel of the Carabinieri Companies of Gorizia and Gradisca d'Isonzo carried out an extraordinary service of territorial control, primarily aimed at combating illegal immigration through control of the border area, also in relation to the suspension of the Schengen Treaty.
The intervention, developed in coordination with the Prefecture and the Border Police, involved various border areas of the Municipalities of Gorizia, Savogna d'Isonzo, San Floriano del Collio, Cormons and Dolegna del Collio and involved the overall employment of 28 soldiers for 14 patrols and a AB412EP helicopter of the 14th Belluno Helicopter Unit which provided air support, proving to be crucial in the coordination of ground patrols.
The control of the border area was carried out by setting up targeted checkpoints at secondary border crossings used by the so-called passeurs, as well as at the main arteries that lead from the border of nearby Slovenia to the province of Gorizia, as well as at motorway junctions that lead outside the national territory, together with dynamic surveillance services in places frequented daily by irregular non-EU citizens, namely the railway station and the banks of the Isonzo river, thanks to the invaluable support of the helicopter.
They were checked during the service 110 vehicles, 136 people and 13 commercial businesses, without detecting any irregularities.
The helicopter employed was an AB412EP with call sign FIAMMA38; it is a multi-role aircraft suitable for both the transport of people (up to 12) and materials, which can fly both day and night and the crew is made up of 2 pilots and an on-board specialist.

The 14th Carabinieri Helicopter Unit is based in Belluno and carries out support activities mainly in favor of all the branches of the Carabinieri., guaranteeing a vast typology of interventions, including:
