Rapallo: they had created hollow synthetic stones inside where they could hide the narcotics. A 40-year-old and a 35-year-old were arrested.

The State Police arrested a 40-year-old man and a 35-year-old woman for possession of a narcotic substance for the purpose of trafficking, in competition.

Following some reports from citizens, the officers of the Rapallo Police Station, for about three weeks, had been carrying out an investigative activity aimed at countering a drug dealing phenomenon in the S. Anna district of Rapallo. Monitoring services led to the identification of the couple, already known to investigators.

Once their modus operandi was established, the Investigative Team carried out further observation activities with the Canine Units, which allowed them to discover the hiding places used to conceal the narcotic substance. Yesterday afternoon, after the two individuals were seen making some drug sales to a customer, the officers stopped them and proceeded with personal and house searches, already delegated by the AG, with the support of a Canine Unit.

The two had a package of cocaine with them each. and, in the flowerbed where they had been seen secluded with the buyer, the dog Leone pointed out some stones, totally similar to natural ones, but made of synthetic material, hollow inside and sealed in the underground part with a plastic cap. The stones contained several heat-sealed packages of cocaine for a total weight equal to gr. 60,52 divided overall into 74 doses packaged in heat-sealed wrappers. At the home and in the cellars adjacent to the apartment used by the two individuals, the personnel working together with Leone identified another hashish-type drug for a total of about 30 grams.

All the narcotics were subjected to seizure together with a total sum of money of €2.250, presumably the proceeds of drug dealing.

The 40-year-old was also found to be subjected to the alternative measure to detention of probation to Social Services.
Both were taken to prison.
