Genoa, the Police Commissioner suspends the license of a cultural club in Sampierdarena
Following specific administrative procedures initiated and investigated by the Administrative and Social Police Division, the Police Chief of Genoa has ordered, pursuant to article 100 of the Consolidated Law on Public Safety (TULPS), the suspension for 30 days of the license to supply food and drinks to the public, registered to the manager of a cultural association in Sampierdarena.
The club is not new to this type of measure, in fact from 2011 to today, despite the alternation of different managements, was repeatedly monitored by the police and subject to suspensions of authorizations, adopted promptly and with the necessary gradualness by this State Police Authority.
This last measure was deemed necessary to put an end to a serious situation of social danger generated by the violent conduct of the club's frequenters, many of them convicted, often related to an uncontrolled intake of alcoholic beverages.
The latest episode of violence occurred on April 27th, at the first light of dawn, when five crews from the General Prevention and Public Rescue Office and the Cornigliano Police Station They intervened following a report of a fight and subsequent assault on a woman. The perpetrator of the violence, first inside the club and then outside, attacked his ex-partner with the use of a large stone, which generated a fight between two opposing factions. The police officers managed to separate the contenders and restore calm, not without difficulty also due to the outflow of patrons from the venue, who were visibly drunk.
The young man, on this occasion he was referred to the competent Judicial Authority for attempted aggravated injury and administratively sanctioned for drunkenness.
The provision, pursuant to art. 100 of the Consolidated Law on Public Safety (TULPS), notified yesterday by the agents of the Cornigliano police station, adopted by the Police Commissioner to avoid the recurrence of violent and aggressive phenomena to guarantee order and safety, has as its rationale that of preventing, through the closure of the premises, the continuation of a socially dangerous situation, so that citizens do not have the erroneous belief that they have to live in illegality and in fear of aggression. It also has the function of producing a dissuasive effect on subjects deemed dangerous who, on the one hand, are deprived of a place of habitual aggregation and on the other are warned that their presence in that place is the subject of attention by the relevant authorities.
