Genoa: anti-crime checks in the historic center: the dog Leone finds 45 grams of cannabis derivatives, hidden in various hard-to-reach nooks and crannies.

Even yesterday, protagonist of the newspapers anti-crime services in the historic center, it was the dog Leo which, thanks to its small size and its infallible sense of smell, he found 45 grams of cannabis derivatives, hidden in various hard-to-reach nooks and crannies, such as under a metal grate of an automatic gate, in Vico del Fornaro.

The services took place in the morning, afternoon and evening quadrants and saw the participation, together with the canine units, of the operators of the UPG, the Central Police Station and the Liguria Crime Prevention Department.

The aim is prevention and rsuppression of predatory crimes and in the field of narcotics, as well as the fight against the phenomena of petty crime.

A total of 96 people were identified during the operations.

In the morning, while this activity was in progress, the patrol car from the Central Police Station was sent to help a woman, resident in the historic centre, who had demonstrated suicidal intent. The officers, who immediately intervened, found her in a severe state of depression and with clear signs of self-harm on her arms. After offering her the necessary comfort, they convinced her to desist from her intentions, ensuring that she agreed to be accompanied to the nearest hospital for treatment.
