Genoa: Truck stopped at toll booth with poorly preserved food
As part of the territorial control activities carried out by the Genoa Traffic Police Section, on the night between Saturday and Sunday, a patrol from the Section subjected control un truck with food supplies at the Genova Ovest motorway toll booth.
Given the specificity of the products it was transporting, a more in-depth check was carried out with the assistance of personnel ASL, finding that the food products were stored in a manner that does not comply with current regulations.
In fact, there were in the van 247 packs of sweets for a weight of 123,5 kg stored at room temperature 15°C, rather than at the temperature recommended for the aforementioned foods (0°- 4° C).
Following the investigations, the operators charged the driver with an administrative violation for the non-compliant use of the vehicle, with the application of the accessory sanction of the seizure of the vehicle since it had already been previously used for a different purpose, and they were deferring the driver to the competent Judicial Authority for the crime of possession of foodstuffs in poor conditionThe presumption of innocence of the accused remains intact until a final conviction.
Inside the vehicle, moreover, a a large amount of tobacco for which further investigations are underway by the Guardia di Finanza.
