Genoa, threatens shop assistant with knife and attacks policeman: 19-year-old arrested

Police of the State of Genoa arrested a 19-year-old local for attempted resistance to a police officer, aggravated robbery and possession of a narcotic substance for the purpose of trafficking. The young man, together with two unknown peers, he got off the bus in Rissotto Square and approached a newsstand asking insistently, in a high tone of voice, some money to the owner. In an attempt to call 122, the latter was attacked by the 19 year old who, in the meantime, had managed to enter the shop and damage the cell phone with which the man was trying to make a phone call, before quickly walking away with his friends.

A few moments later, the officers were on their way to the scene of the operation when they received a further report of a robbery in progress in a bakery adjacent to the newsstand where the 19-year-old had entered trying to steal something to eat. Ordered by the clerk to pay what she had just taken from the counter, he refused, offering her a package of narcotic substance in exchange. When the woman refused, the young man became even more agitated and grabbed a knife from the counter, threatening her; she managed to disarm him with a sudden gesture and contact the police. who, already nearby, came to the rescue.

The boy immediately became uncooperative, not respecting orders and pushing an operator to the ground in an attempt to escape towards the square. At this point he threw the package of narcotic substance to the ground trying to get rid of it, but he was stopped by the officers who, given the persistent aggressive behavior, and in order to preserve the safety of the citizens present, hit him with capsicum spray. Finally he was stopped and placed inside the company car. The images from the video surveillance cameras in the square confirmed that the boy was the perpetrator of the attack on the newsagent and the robbery in the bakery, and allowed the officers to recover the drugs thrown during the attempted escape, which later turned out to be 5 grams of cannabis.
