The State Police identifies and arrests the person responsible for the robbery in a few hours: a stolen smartphone was recovered, investigations underway to track down the accomplice and the stolen goods
Genoa: Student robbed, 36-year-old arrested
The Genoa State Police has a 36-year-old man arrested morocchino for robbery. A young 20 year old college student, from outside the province, has reported to 112 of having been attacked by the 36-year-old, who snatched his backpack containing a macbook and an ipad, for a total value of 2000 euros, before fleeing in via Prè. In constant contact with the operator of the Operations Centre, the young man provided a detailed description of the aggressor's appearance and his movements, thus helping the officers of a patrol car, who intervened immediately, to succeed in identify it shortly after, in via Gramsci.
Taken to the police station and questioned, The man said he hid the boy's backpack in a garbage bin during his escape, after having delivered the electronic devices to another person. Furthermore, the suspect had a smartphone with him that kept ringing, which he later declared was not his; in fact, following investigations, the officers discovered that in the previous months a woman had reported the loss of that cell phone, which has been seized for further investigation. The man was arrested and taken to the Marassi prison, awaiting validation.
