Genoa: He steals personal effects from an RFI employee, 38-year-old arrested

The Railway Police of Genoa Piazza Principe intervened in the square in front of the station to rescue an unconscious man, presumably due to alcohol intake. After checking his conditions, the officers requested the intervention of the 118 personnel, who transported the man to the Villa Scassi Hospital in Sampierdarena for the necessary treatment.

During the rescue, the Railway Police noticed, near the man, some personal effects of an RFI employee on duty inside the railway station. The woman, contacted immediately by the police, she recognized the objects as hers, and then specified that they had been stolen from her by unknown persons shortly before inside her office.

To better investigate the subject's position, the officers reached him at the hospital where, during the checks on him, the man was found in possession of a pulse oximeter that he had stolen from the ambulance of the Croce d'Oro di Sampierdarena that had taken care of his transport. After having informed the Judicial Authority, the Polfer agents proceeded, as ascertained, to arrest the subject on charges of aggravated theft.

The man, a 38-year-old Maghreb citizen irregular on the national territory, was tried by summary procedure before the Court of Genoa. The Judge validated the arrest by ordering the personal precautionary measure of the ban on residence in Liguria.
