Genoa, “High Impact” Blitz in Sestri Ponente: four arrests, seizures and fines for 70 thousand euros.

Yesterday afternoon, Thursday 13 March, a meeting took place in Sestri Ponente an extraordinary operation to control the territory aimed at the prevention and repression of crimes, through the operative model di "High Impact", which saw a massive deployment of Police Forces, Local Police, ASL 3 and ARTE technicians

The checks involved people, vehicles and commercial establishments, with particular attention to those serving food and drinks, barber shops, VLT rooms and massage centres, in addition to areas reported for alcohol dealing and abuse. During the operation it was discovered a drug warehouse in Sampierdarena, where a 37-year-old Venezuelan was hiding over 150 grams of cocaine under a mattress, while another man was found with a precision scale and 1.370 euros in cash. Another arrest involved a 21 year old Tunisian man caught dealing cocaine, while a 19-year-old Egyptian was reported for drug possession and possession of a 20cm folding knife.

In the commercial sector, they have been controlled 21 public establishments, with fines totalling 70 thousand euros for serious health and hygiene violations, lack of authorizations and improper food storage and a Italian street vendor fined 5 euros, with the seizure of 40 kg of perishable goods.

Furthermore, the Carabinieri discovered an illegal occupation in via della Benedicta, reporting a 27-year-old.

The operation led to the total seizure of 203 grams of cocaine and 20 grams of hashish, to the complaint of 9 Guests and 15 violations of the Highway Code, including 9 for driving under the influence of alcohol.
