Genoa: Free trains for students under 19 and 50% discount for under 26 in 2025.

Genoa, free monthly and annual passes on trains, on the route between residence and school, for all students under 19 and 50% discount for the students under 26. This is the measure confirmed by Liguria region throughout 2025.
The measure, already shared by the Regional Council, will be officially approved in tomorrow's session on the proposal of the Transport Councillor Marco Scajola.

“This is an important measure to maintain a concrete aid, unique in Italy, for young Ligurians”, declare the President of the Liguria Region Marco Bucci and the regional councillor for Transport Marco Scajola. “Thousands of free passes were issued in 2024 and we are convinced that the initiative can be even more successful in the new year. We guarantee free travel to students under 19 from all over Liguria to go to school or university and we give a 50% discount for the same reasons to those under 26. The Liguria Region thus demonstrates, once again, its closeness to those who use the train daily.”
