Euroflora 2025: colors, aromas, flowers and Ligurian culture.

Among the botanical wonders ready to enchant visitors of Euroflora 2025, the Region's stand will be an authentic celebration of the territory: a story made of scents, colors and Mediterranean suggestions. Set up with scenographic care and environmental sensitivity, the Ligurian exhibition space presents itself not only as a horticultural showcase, but as a manifesto of beauty and cultural identity.

“After the 2018 and 2022 editions which took place in the splendid setting of the Nervi Parks – explains the President of the Liguria Region – Euroflora returns to its original location, the former trade fair district which has undergone significant urban regeneration by architect Renzo Piano. The new route will wind along the entire urban park, cross the central area of the Palasport, continue in the spaces of Piazzale Mare and on the floating exhibition route of the Marina, to arrive at the Jean Nouvel pavilion. A place of great charm for one of the most important international horticultural events. We are sure that thanks also to all the events planned in the city, including the Rolli Days, will be sold out and will confirm Genoa and Liguria as increasingly popular destinations”.

“Euroflora is the highest expression of the beauty and expertise of our horticultural sector, a symbol of Ligurian identity and a driving force for development in the area. With over 5.000 companies, 400 million in gross value through sales and 80% of production destined for export, floriculture is the heart of Ligurian agriculture. – the regional vice-president underlined – The Region is proud to be there with two large installations: one at the entrance to the event, on Piazzale Kennedy, which offers a sensory journey through the botanical excellence of the territory, and one inside the Blue Pavilion, dedicated to floral creativity and the tradition of Ligurian hybridizers. We will continue to invest in promotion, innovation and sustainability, because we believe in an agriculture that can excite and compete in the world. This year, the Permanent Conference for Agriculture (CPA) will also take place within Euroflora: an important recognition that confirms the strategic role of our Region in the national agricultural panorama”.

At the beginning of the exhibition route on Piazzale Kennedy there will be a first installation that will have an extension of about 1300 square meters and on the first floor of the Blue Pavilion a second area of about 300 square meters. Specifically, the external installation will become the entrance and presentation element of the entire event, designed to enhance and stage the characteristics, peculiarities and skills of the Ligurian territory. According to the idea of the garden suspended between land and sea. A tribute to the unique conformation of the Ligurian landscape, squeezed between the waves and the Apennines. Inside there are over 5500 plants including herbs, flowers and trees.

A Liguria of olive trees and citrus fruits in a space that wants to tell a journey through the Ligurian gardens with the colors and shapes of lemons, pernambucos, chinotti from Savona, and with the typical daisies of Albenga, hydrangeas and flowering plants. A sea of lavender will welcome visitors, at discovery of the most important agricultural production of Liguria: aromatic herbs. The Albenga area is the sovereign territory of these precious pearls, with over 120 million vases per year: an undefeated leadership in Europe that unites garden and kitchen. Rosemary, lavender, marjoram, thyme, dill, sage and a thousand other fragrances will accompany the visitor.

An integral part of the Ligurian floricultural production of the far west are succulent plants with cacti originating from all over the world: agaves, nolinas, echinocactus, grusoni, cycas, yuccas and many other peculiarities of arid, hot and cold climates, but made in the Riviera.
There will also be a basil garden, a plant that is a symbol of Genoa in the world.

La Piazza
Crossing these landscapes the route will reach a space overlooking the sea where a specially designed scenography will resume the typical features of Ligurian architecture and its colors. The square designed at a higher level than the event plan is conceived as a support for a varied floral arrangement as a synthesis of a path in direct dialogue with the sea and the horizon.. A path built with dry stone walls will lead to a second space where events and demonstrations will be hosted.

Installation in the Blue Pavilion
Inside, the Liguria Region will enhance the richness of cut flowers and floral compositions, according to a dialogue between the external and internal installation. The installation will evoke the spaces and typical features of the Ligurian territory, building a scenographic path to support the floral compositions. Scenes of urban spaces arranged on an irregular path with lighting designed specifically to enhance the installation. The project includes a succession of 8 scenes to set up with floral compositions in an alternation of closed and semi-open spaces and scenes for independent installations where the decoration of objects and furnishing elements that characterize the urban space is imagined: a bicycle, a bench, a fountain. A pergola structure will enhance its view of the central space and a tower about 6 meters high will have a floral arrangement with lighting to emphasize the verticality of the space. At the center of the square there will be a flower fountain.

Cut flowers and orchids
The floral compositions are part of the heritage of beauty and skills that Liguria will “stage” inside the Blue Pavilion with flowers that are witnesses of excellent research and production.
Within the concept of the installation as a square, a continuous counter will be able to freely evoke that of a market, the species and hybrids of particular representativeness will be exhibited. The counter will host about forty vases of different diameters. Thousands of stems and fronds, arriving directly from the Matuziano Flower Market will be exhibited in the installation of the Blue Pavilion: roses, ranunculus, pansies, strelitzias, carnations of various colours, woven with eucalyptus fronds, ruscus, viburnum of various shades and worked in a creative way. The turnover of the cut flowers will be continuous throughout the event, guaranteeing an unchanged spectacularity from the first to the last day and an unparalleled quality, guaranteed by our products and our team.

The Ranunculus “Giannina” dedicated to the Gaslini Institute
In the year in which the Zero Pavilion was born, symbol of the new Gaslini, the Giannina ranunculus was created, donated by Biancheri Creazioni. Right on the occasion of Euroflora, the Giannina Gaslini Institute will celebrate its path of renewal with a special flower, a new variety of Pon Pon ranunculus dedicated to the hospital. “This is a gesture of great symbolic value,” explains Gaslini General Manager Renato Botti, “which underlines a historic moment of great innovation for our hospital. With Ranunculus Giannina we celebrate the uniqueness and poetry that every child holds within himself, and at the same time we tell the story of the transformation that our pediatric hospital is experiencing. Starting next year, it will be possible to support Gaslini by purchasing, on the third weekend of March, the ranunculus in the squares of Genoa. It will be a concrete way to contribute to the hospital's great projects".

Flower Market
The team of florists is led by Jessica Tua, floral designer, for years the protagonist of the stage settings of the Sanremo Festival. The Ligurian collective of Euroflora will be the occasion to celebrate the great tradition of the Sanremo hybridizers who for over a century have been creating creations halfway between science and art. In this edition we will have about forty varieties of Antonio Marchese Rose, Biancheri Creazioni, Brea, Gagliardi, Mansuino Breeding Emotions and NIRP International who will propose their colorful creations of roses, ranunculus, barbatus, hydrangea, alstroemeria. Like the magnificent orchids of Enrico Vincenzo, the only producer who has participated in all the editions of Euroflora, with an unbeatable list of medals.

The installations of the Municipality of Genoa at Euroflora: Asef's lantern and Aster's four seasons in the new Palasport
The Municipality of Genoa, through its subsidiaries ASTer. and Asef, He has made installations and exhibition spaces of Euroflora 2025. In particular, ASTer., as per tradition consolidated edition after edition, has played a central role in the design and construction of the exhibition spaces of the Municipality of Genoa, in the setting up of the exhibition pavilions and installations in the city. Inside the Palasport, ASTer. has created exhibition spaces, conceived as a journey through time through the seasons, to represent the eternal cycle of Nature that marks the solar year. Starting from summer, symbol of maximum fertility, until spring, moment of rebirth and regeneration, the path develops through four thematic environments, each of which tells the essence of a season with plants, materials and colours. It is an invitation to reflect on the relationship between man, cycles of nature and art, with explicit references to the themes of environmental sustainability, biodiversity and landscape education. One of the narrative fulcrums is the Chiossone space, created by ASTer. in collaboration with the Civic Museum of Oriental Art “Edoardo Chiossone”. Here, the poetry of the seasons is evoked through artistic reproductions of the Edo period (1600–1868), accompanied by a botanical selection of species and cultivars native to or widespread in Japan. Not a traditional garden, but a naturalistic collection that tells – through plants, art and suggestions – the harmonious alternation of the Japanese seasons, in a silent but powerful dialogue with the Italian ones. The program is completed by eight thematic arenas, a theater of dissemination and debates, hosted in the dedicated spaces of the Palasport and the Jean Nouvel Pavilion, in addition to the awards ceremony of the “Fammi uno Scarabottolo” competition, which involved over 200 students from Genoese primary schools in a creative journey around the theme of trees and their stories.

In the heart of the Palasport in Genoa, only the last details are missing for the Green Lantern designed by A.Se.F. and created with aromatic plants and Ligurian flowers, inserted in an exhibition space of 140 square meters.

The A.Se.F. stand is divided into three specific areas, circular and interconnected: the first, most external and visible, sees the Lanterna di Genova stand out, built on a scale of 1:20, whose facades will be made of green moss, the coat of arms of the cross of San Giorgio will be recreated with white and red flowers; around the base there will be an area of sand and stone slabs, where visitors can enter to see the construction of the San Benigno lighthouse up close. The second circular area will host a large flowerbed, with flowers and aromatic plants typical of Liguria, whose colors recall the chromatism of the seafront buildings of the western and eastern neighborhoods of the city. Finally, there will be a space dedicated to hospitality, with armchairs and staff available to those who want to discover the excellence of the Genoese company.
