University of Genoa: Academic year 2024/2025 inaugurated with growing enrollments.

This morning theUniversity Councillor Simona Ferro brought the greetings of the Liguria Region to theinauguration of the academic year 2024/2025 ofUniversity of Genoa, underlining the role of the university as a point of balance between tradition and innovation. Ferro highlighted the growth in enrollments and the attractiveness of the institute, with the 18% of students come from outside the region.

The University of Genoa has recently been ranked among the 17 best in Italy and among the first 500 in the world, confirming itself in the top ten of the major state universities (20.000-40.000 students) according to Censis, with a score of 82.3. The university is also the only one in Italy to offer multidisciplinary training on the blue economy, accompanied by a strong focus on STEM disciplines, in line with the needs of the job market.

Also present at the inauguration was Massimo Nicolò, health councilor, who reiterated the importance of the University for the training of health professionals, underlining the need for a constant dialogue between the academic world and the healthcare system to fill the current gaps. Nicolò expressed confidence in the mission of Unige in training doctors and healthcare workers who are competent, empathetic and prepared for global challenges.
