Genoa, two 30-year-old Algerians arrested for a traffic stop

The men, already known to the police, had been issued arrest warrants. One of them was also charged with possession of an illegal pepper spray.

The two, subjects known to the police forces for the numerous criminal records, were stopped for a routine check by the agents of the Cornigliano Police Station, as they walked in Celesia Street, intent on talking to each other. One of the two, asked to empty the contents of the bag, took out a pepper spray not compliant with current regulations on free sale and for this he was also reported for unjustified possession of weapons or objects capable of causing offence.

Subsequent investigations revealed the arrest warrants for the notification of precautionary custody orders and for subsequent transport to the Marassi prison, where they were escorted to the disposal of the Judicial Authority.
