SMARTcup Liguria 2025, winners of the thirteenth edition announced: Go Renty triumphs with its platform for sharing household items
The best innovative ideas from the thirteenth edition of the competition promoted by the Liguria Region and managed by FILSE were awarded in Genoa. Winners included RegenERA, Ars Bionica, and MMPS. The Ligurian startups will now compete for the National Innovation Award in Ferrara.
SMARTcup Liguria 2025: The winners of the thirteenth edition have been announced: Go Renty triumphs with its platform for sharing household items.
It ended at the BIC – Genoa Business Incubator la thirteenth edition of SMARTcup Liguria, regional business plan competition sponsored by Liguria region and managed by FILSE, dedicated to supporting entrepreneurial talent and the birth of innovative start-ups e research spin-off.
In front of a large audience and a jury of experts, eight finalists – selected from 51 projects introduced themselves – they challenged each other with the formula of“elevator pitch”, a concise presentation designed to convince potential investors to bet on your ideas.

To conquer the first place overall was Go Renty, an innovative platform that allows you to transform household objects into valuable assets, promoting reuse and sustainability.

Cleantech Energy: RegenERA – project of regenerative aquaculture based on macroalgae for nutraceuticals and cosmetics.

ICT: Go Renty – exchange platform for the valorization of household objects.

Life Science Med: Ars Bionica – technology for the creation of accessible and sustainable bionic prosthetics.

Cleantech Energy: MMPS – Marine Micro-Plastic Separator – device plug & play for filtering microplastics, applicable to marine engines and washing machines.
The four winning startups will participate in the National Prize for Innovation (PNI) and will benefit from six months of free incubation at the BIC in Genoa.

During the event the following were also awarded:

il Marco Paganuzzi Award, chosen by the public, to EASE VR, which presented a platform of immersive virtual reality for the rehabilitation of neurodivergent people;

i StartCup UniGe Awards a RegenERA, Ristoway e Dockside, Besides 23 special prizes offered by the initiative's partners.

Il President of FILSE Gerolamo Taccogna , Deputy Director Nives Riggio they reaffirmed the strategic role of the regional finance company in ongoing support for startups, also through the incubator and financial instruments made available by the Liguria Region.
Since its inception, SMARTcup Liguria has collected 569 projects, of which over 60 transformed into active and profitable businesses in Liguria and the rest of Italy.

The 2025 edition introduced the SMARTcup Academy, itinerant training and mentorship path which affected all four Ligurian provinces, offering participants tools for drafting a business plan and presenting the project.
The next appointment for the winners will be at National Prize for Innovation (PNI), scheduled at Ferrara on December 4 and 5, 2025, where the best Ligurian startups will compete with those from all over Italy.
