Rapallo: sprays a chilli pepper stinging substance and a fight breaks out. 5 subjects reported.

The State Police has referred to the Judicial Authority 5 subjects, aged between 25 and 38, held responsible for the brawl which occurred last Saturday, 3 August, at 19.30 pm in the historic center of Rapallo.

The investigations, immediately started by the investigators of the Rapallo police station, through the testimonies collected on site and viewing the videos allowed us to reconstruct the precise dynamics of the event and quickly identify the 5 subjects who participated in the fight.

Investigators have established that the action began in Piazza Garibaldi with the spray of a chilli pepper stinging substance by a person against the group of contenders who were sitting at a table outside a room. From here, a fight broke out which took place in the adjacent Piazza del Pozzo, in the area where two public establishments have outdoor tables which at that moment were all occupied by customers who were consuming food and drinks.

The suspects faced each other in the narrow space between the two rooms and to hit each other they threw tables and chairs, both plastic and metal, bottles, glasses and other household items at each other. A metal easel that was originally an advertising sign was used as a blunt weapon.

The police car from the Rapallo police station and personnel from the investigation team arrived promptly on site.

The suddenness of the intervention allowed the staff of the Rapallo police station, who are conducting the investigations, to immediately identify the perpetrators of the crime.

Two of these, belonging to opposing factions, they suffered cut wounds to their hands in the clashes and were transported by ambulance to the Lavagna emergency room where they were reported with 10 and 15 days of prognosis respectively. The investigative activity began immediately and continued into the night and continued the following day by finding any information useful for reconstructing the facts and identifying the personal responsibilities of each participant in the brawl.

On Monday, the results of the investigations allowed five people to be referred to the Judicial Authority for the crime of aggravated brawling. The presumption of innocence remains for all suspects until final conviction.

To the 5 subjects, yesterday morning, the provision prohibiting access to urban areas (DACUR) was also notified that the Police Chief of Genoa issued against them, with which interested parties are prohibited from accessing and staying, in the evening and at night until 04.00 am, in the immediate vicinity of the public businesses of the Rapallo Centre, for a period of one year.

Following the incident, the presence of patrols from the Rapallo police station in the historic center was implemented, particularly in the evening and night hours.
