“Vai Tranquillo – Sicurezza & Fiducia”: the event in Santa Margherita Ligure on legality, prevention and trust

An event dedicated to prevention and digital awareness, with the contribution of law enforcement, schools and 31 local entities.

It took place today, Wednesday June 4, at the Giardini a Mare in Santa Margherita Ligure, the eighth edition of “Go Calmly – Safety & Trust", the initiative promoted by the Municipality of Santa Margherita Ligure and the Rapallo section of the National Union of Retired Officers of Italy (UNUCI), which involved over 500 students and numerous institutional and associative entities in the area.

Also this year the State Police participated with the staff of the Public Relations Office (URP) of the Genoa Police Headquarters, of the Operations Centre for Cyber ​​Security of the Postal Police and of the Highway Police, through information stands and meeting moments aimed at younger people.

In particular, the Postal Police and Cyber ​​Security staff met students, teachers and citizens, addressing the increasingly current issue of aware surfing on the net and safe use of social networks, not only for children but also for adults. During the day, topics related to the protection of privacy, the risks of cyberbullying, online scams and the dangers of the web, providing useful advice and practical tools for safe and responsible navigation.

"It is essential to educate young people and raise awareness among the less young about the importance of a correct and conscious use of the Internet. Opportunities like this allow us to dialogue directly with citizens and build a culture of digital security together", underlined Dr. Alessandro Carmeli, director of the Operations Center for Cyber ​​Security of the Liguria Postal Police.

The Highway Police officers explained their specific activity to the students with a exhibition of vehicles and a workshop on road safety and correct driving behaviour.

The initiative has once again proven to be an important one opportunity for prevention and dissemination, thanks also to the presence of 31 reality between police forces, firefighters, civil protection, ASL, public assistance and local associations, committed to promoting healthy and safe lifestyles.

“Go Calm – Safety & Confidence” continues to represent a highly anticipated event for schools and citizens, strengthening the synergy between institutions and local communities for the protection of the youngest and the promotion of legality.
