Genoa: Sala della Trasparenza – 9 Paralympic Sports Merit Awards assigned to athletes, clubs, technicians and managers
It was held at the Hall of Transparency of Liguria region the handover ceremony of Paralympic Sports Merit related toyear of production 2023.
This recognition, promoted by the Paralympic Committee, celebrates athletes, technicians, managers and sports clubs who have particularly distinguished themselves in their disciplines.
The ceremony was attended and the awards were presented by the deputy vice-president of Ligurian Paralympic Committee Dario Della Gatta,'Councillor for Sport of the Liguria Region Simona Ferro andCouncillor for Sport of the Municipality of Genoa, Alessandra Bianchi.
Ad Andrew Barberis e Federico Minnai it was delivered Gold Medal for Paralympic Athletic Valor. Barberis won the world championship of sport dance in the discipline Combi Standard Class 2, while Minnai got theSilver at the Global Games swimming, in the 50m butterfly II3.
The winning company of the Bronze Star for Paralympic Sport Merit and the FPX Pontedecimo Swimming Brotherhood.
Among the coaches, John John Peter Amasio e Gian Franco Pusceddu were awarded with the Bronze Palm for Technical Value. Silver Star for Paralympic Sporting Merit for Michelangelo Buonarrivo, president of the Ligurian committee FIDESM. Rewarded with the Stella di Bronzo even sports managers Enrico Carrea (FIV), Mariagrazia Gilardi (FIPPS) e Claudio Puppo (FIPIC).

The athletes, coaches, managers and clubs present today perfectly embody the sporting values to which we are most attached: dedication, perseverance, sacrifice and willpower. All elements that have allowed them to cut truly prestigious goals.
Liguria will continue to invest on multiple fronts, from infrastructure to safety and inclusiveness, to support and strengthen the idea of a sport that is for everyone and by everyone. It is a necessary commitment, as well as an objective perfectly in line with the nomination as European Region of Sport 2025".

The athletes awarded today represent an extraordinary model for thousands of young people with disabilities who, dreaming of reaching the same goals, approach the Paralympic world for the first time and begin to frequent gyms, sports fields and swimming pools.
A very important step in the life of every single individual, because sport has always been a unique tool to promote sociality and inclusion, without any distinction of gender, age or ability.".
