The President of the Liguria Region celebrates the opening of the international event, underlining the importance of the Blue Economy, sustainability, and investments that have made the Show a showcase of global excellence.

“This is the ninth time I've been on this stage and I assure you that every time there's a bit of emotion.” – said the President of the Liguria Region Marco Bucci on the occasion of the inauguration of the 65st Genoa Boat Show –.
“Not only for the role we play as administrators, but also because The sea is a fundamental part of our way of life, especially for those of us who, like me, sail: the Boat Show has always been a great celebration. I want to thank Confindustria Nautica, which is doing a tremendous job for the Boat Show. In recent years, it has been greatly relaunched and has achieved goals that perhaps no one imagined.
Today we are the third most important event in the world and we are working together to become the first. I'm not saying this out of pride or rhetoric, but because it's really possible: we have an infrastructure that the whole world envies us and We have invested heavily, not only financially but also in vision, design, hospitality, and tourism. The Genoa Boat Show wants and must become the world's leading boat show. This is the challenge we are launching today, with the support of Confindustria Nautica and the institutions, and it is a goal within our reach.”
The governor recalled how the Blue Economy should be widespread throughout Liguria, from Ventimiglia to the Gulf of La Spezia: "Many port and maritime-related activities represent a fundamental part of our economy and our way of life. Not only for those who work there, bringing employment and wealth, but also for those who enjoy the sea in their leisure time."
Bucci then launched a universal message:
"We continue to sail. This is the message we want to give to Italy and the world. The sea is the only route that connects all lands, and it is also essential for the eco-sustainability of the planet. We are committed to preserving it and leaving it to our children better than we received it."
Particular attention was paid to the theme of sustainability, which is very much felt within the event: "Those who sail know this, and in fact here at the Show they know it and always pay close attention to the theme of sustainability. With this spirit, I wish everyone a fantastic Boat Show, not just the professionals but also the visitors, so that they can experience some truly special days here in Genoa, both during and after the Show.
