La State Police of Genoa, on behalf of the Public Prosecutor's Office of Genoa, he carried out aprecautionary custody order in prison at the expense of a 51enne Genoese with precedents, for the crime of multiple aggravated theft.

The restrictive measure, issued by the Preliminary Investigations Judge at the Court of Genoa, summarizes the investigations conducted by the “Falchi” of the Flying Squad, following some thefts that occurred in the last week of August at the 'Scientific Institute of Tumors (IST) located in the hospital complex San Martino of Genoa, to the detriment of two terminally ill patients hospitalized there.

In particular, the suspect, who he had already committed similar crimes in the past, mingling among relatives during visiting hours, he entered the rooms of three patients, removing cell phones and tablets and thus causing damage that is not only material but also psychological to people in extremely fragile conditions.

During the commission of the crimes, the man he changed clothes to evade investigations and attempted to receiving part of the stolen goods in the historic center of Genoa. The electronic devices of one of the victims were recovered and returned to the entitled party. The 51-year-old was also charged a further aggravated theft, committed at the beginning of September, against a university student who was studying with some colleagues in the library.

Il serious circumstantial framework, rebuilt thanks to the video surveillance images and testimonies of victims and relatives, was fully shared by theJudicial authority, which ordered the precautionary measure. The man was then traced in another Ligurian hospital, where he was undergoing medical checks, and sent to prison.
