Genoa: A 41-year-old man reportedly assaults a travel agency owner with a chair.

The man, a Romanian citizen, had asked for assistance in booking a flight. Unable to purchase a ticket without documents, he struck the agency owner with a chair and fled.

The State Police of Genoa reported a 41-year-old Romanian man charged with aggravated assault.

UPGSP officers intervened at atravel agency located on Via Cairoli because the owner had been attacked and injured with a chair by the 41-year-old.

In particular, the latter had contacted the agency shortly before to be helped to Book the first available flight to reach a family member in Romania but, failing to complete the operation, he was invited by the employee to reach their offices to complete the operation.

The 41-year-old went to the shop but, without an identity document, was unable to purchase the ticket and he flew into a rage and started railing against the employee.

Il the owner, sitting at the desk next to him, intervened to calm the situation and invited the man to move away.

He, in response, He insulted him and grabbed a chair, throwing it at him and hitting him on the head, before fleeing in a taxi.

The operators on site immediately assisted the owner who was taken to the emergency room and started searching for the taxi in which the 41-year-old had fled, tracking him down shortly after near the Genoa Bolzaneto toll booth.

He was taken to the police station and reported.

The owner was discharged from the hospital with a prognosis of 7 days.
