Un 29-year-old from Genoa was reported for aggravated theft and receiving stolen goods after being identified by the officers who intervened yesterday evening in the parking lot of Merchant Street.

The alarm was raised by two spouses who were passing through the city and who had called the 112 after discovering that their car, left parked, had been forced: a window had been broken and items were missing from the passenger compartment two tablets, a laptop, a trolley and various personal effects.

The operators, after having verified the theft, asked the Operations Centre to check the images from the cameras of the city video surveillance system “Safe City”.

Thanks to the shooting, in Raibetta Square, a man was noticed dragging a trolley that perfectly matched the stolen one.

The officers reached him and stopped him shortly after, finding him in possession of a tablet and other items stolen, hidden in the backpack.

The trolley was recovered near a shop in Maddalena Street.

All the stolen goods were returned to their rightful owners, while the young man was reported.
