Genoa: The Chefs' Festival kicks off from October 11th to 14th.
"Italian cuisine is a candidate for UNESCO World Heritage status: I hope our country can obtain this important recognition. Having spent many years in the US, everyone I met admired and was fascinated by the value of Italian cuisine. Italian cooking, which is a key part of our tradition. It would be a extraordinary success for all of Italy, which would further enhance something for which we are known and appreciated throughout the world. Ligurian cuisine, then, stands out further: it is based on simple raw materials and is completely unique, different from all the others, and for this reason it also has great value. Chefs' Festival, scheduled at Genoa from 11th to 14th October, fits perfectly into this context, and will be an opportunity for celebrate and promote the great tradition eccapacity for innovation of Italian cuisine and chefs, as well as the typical preparations of our land. The event will therefore be an extraordinary opportunity to improve our territory, its traditions and its excellences: from basil to the fish of our sea, from the oil with herbs aromatic, up to our came, Products that tell our identity and our history. Thanks to the organizers who chose our region for their wonderful initiative, which the Liguria Region will fully support.
Thus the president of the Liguria Region Marco Bucci, speaking today at the presentation of the National Chefs' Festival in the Sala Trasparenza, which will take place in Genoa from 11 to 14 October thanks to the Italian Chefs' Federation with the support of the Liguria Region, the Chamber of Commerce, the Metropolitan City of Genoa, the Municipality of Genoa, Gal Fish Liguria and Ascom Confcommercio Genova e Liguria.
