Piglio and Serrone: the Carabinieri at school to promote legality.

I Carabinieri of the Anagni Company, with the Commander Capt. Alessandro Dell'Otto, and those of the Piglio Station they met about 190 pupils ofComprehensive Institute “Ottaviano Bottini” di Piglio and Serrone (FR)The meetings took place in the mornings of February 10th and 11th, as part of the project “Contributions of the Carabinieri to the formation of the culture of legality”.

During the two days, the military addressed several topics of great importance, including:

• Waste cycle and environmental impact;
• Conscious use of social networks;
• Gender Violence and Red Code, with particular attention to the stalking;
• Dangers of Drunk Driving or under the influence of narcotics, highlighting the consequences legal, social and health;
• Bullying and Cyberbullying, with an in-depth look at the risks of internet and the “dark web”.

The importance of collaboration between citizens and law enforcement

One of the key aspects that emerged during the seminar was the need for active collaboration between citizens and law enforcement. The Carabinieri have underlined how security is a shared value and how community involvement is essential to prevent and combat criminal phenomena.

The specializations of the Carabinieri

During the meeting, the students also had the opportunity to discover the various branches of the Army, Including:

• Forestry Carabinieri;
• NAS (Anti-adulteration and Health Unit);
• RIS (Scientific Investigations Department);
• GIS (Special Intervention Group);
• Divers and Skiers.

The military highlighted the fundamental role of theTerritorial Weapon, the closest to the citizens, with over 5.200 garrisons between Provincial Commands and Station Commands, representing the true backbone of the Force.
