Carabinieri of Frosinone: a next-generation drone was delivered and new pilots were certified. Local controls were strengthened thanks to the "Polizia Locale 4.0" project.

It took place in the last few days, at the branch office of the Lazio Region in Frosinone, the official award ceremony of a DJI Air 3S drone, complete with Fly More Combo kit, and the UAS/APR pilot certificates to two Carabinieri of the Provincial Command.

The initiative is part of the regional project “Local Police 4.0”, promoted by the Councilor Luisa Regiments, which aims to integrate advanced technologies and specialized training to make territorial control more effective.

The professional course for drone pilots – created in collaboration with theUniversity of Cassino and Southern Lazio and certified flight schools – involved the Municipal Police officers of 94 Municipalities of the province of Frosinone and, exceptionally, also two military personnel of the Arma, who have acquired the qualification to operate in open and standard scenarios with drones over 250 grams.

Technology to support safety and prevention

The drone delivered to the Provincial Command represents a new operational tool to increase the capacity of environmental monitoring, find out quickly difficult-to-detect crimes and support complex interventions.

Thanks to high-resolution imaging systems, it will be possible to monitor from above: toxic fires, illegal landfills, unauthorized construction, irregular settlements, and phenomena that compromise urban safety.

The regional manager Daniele Tasca, during the ceremony, personally delivered the drone to the Colonel Gabriele Mattioli, who thanked the Lazio Region for its significant investment in public safety.

The Officer underlined how the use of drones represents “a fundamental added value for strengthening territorial control and intervening quickly and effectively.”
