Ferentino: extraordinary checks on council houses, 7 apartments illegally occupied
During an extraordinary inspection in some public housing buildings, carried out yesterday in Ferentino, 7 apartments were found to be inhabited illegally, furthermore, 2 cases of building abuses were detected, 2 homes with illegal water supply and 2 cars without insurance.

Yesterday, in Ferentino, the Carabinieri of the local station, assisted by personnel from the Anagni Company and supported, for the technical aspects, by Enel spa (electricity network company), Acea ato5 spa (water network company), Ater Frosinone (owner of the building) and technical personnel from the Municipality of Ferentino carried out a extraordinary control in some public housing buildings in via Pettorini.
The intervention, which involved the use of 10 soldiers and 4 institutional cars, it affected 24 apartments, distributed in two areas, of which 12 were immediately found not to be part of the Ater assets as they were purchased by private individuals.
The checks, initiated following some reports received by the military from private citizens who demanded compliance with the allocation rankings, were aimed at verifying the actual occupants of the apartments, checking compliance with the requirements for the concession of housing, and combating situations of urban decay.
During the checks it emerged that at least 7 apartments were inhabited by people without the right to do so who were reported at liberty to the judicial authorities for the crime of invasion of land or buildingsATer personnel proceeded to notify them of the formal notice to vacate the accommodations with a simultaneous formal notice to restore possession of the properties.
The technical investigations highlighted building abuses in two cases. In the first case, the carrying out renovation works in the absence of CILA for which an administrative sanction will be appliedIn the second case, an arbitrary decision was found transformation of a cellar belonging to a dwelling which was itself illegally occupied into a private residence. The author was reported at liberty to the competent Judicial Authority. Following an inspection conducted with the municipal technical office, the cellar was seized.
Inside two houses theillegal water supply to the detriment of “Acea ato5 spa” which took care of the removal of the abuses, reserving the right to quantify the damage suffered. The occupants were also reported to the competent Judicial Authority for aggravated theft.
Two cars, which were present in the parking lots of the public housing complex, were seized because they did not have insurance coverage.
Once recovered, public housing can be reassigned to those who actually need it, following a ranking based on the required requirements.
