Foggia: threatened and extorted money from bus passengers at the intermodal hub

The Foggia State Police has executed a custodial detention order issued by the investigating judge at the Foggia Court, upon proposal by the local Public Prosecutor's Office, against a 35-year-old man undergoing preliminary investigations in relation to the crime of extortion.

In particular, the subject allegedly repeatedly committed extortionate demands for money, through threats, against some bus passengers on the Foggia/Troia line of the transport company “Ferrovie del Gargano”.

The decisive factor was the complaint filed by one of the passengers at the Railway Police offices. In fact, through the subsequent investigations carried out by the Polfer, it was possible to identify the man and it emerged that the subject allegedly made the extortionate demands by threatening retaliation for the victim and his family, making it clear that he had objects capable of causing harm in his trouser pocket where he was hiding his hand.

The subject was therefore taken to the local prison.
