Rovigo, The Innovation Lab at Milano Digital Week 2021

Thursday 18 March from To 10 13, the Urban Digital Center – InnovationLab of Rovigo will participate in the fourth edition of the Milano Digital Week, an event – this year completely online – promoted by the Municipality of Milano, which will have as its guiding theme “Fair and Sustainable City”.

The Municipality of Rovigo, in collaboration with the ICT and Digital Agenda Directorate of the Veneto Region, participates with a meeting entitled: ”Rovigo: a city of Open Innovation, open data and sustainability”, in which he will talk about how the relaunch of an average city begins with the creation of a new process of urban innovation guided by open data and the sustainability of the SDGs objectives of the 2030 Agenda, an action program signed by the UN member countries.

Lo Urban Digital Center – InnovationLab and 11 Digital Gyms of the project, also present in Adria and Villadose, aim to be a new rebirth for the city, the hamlets and the municipalities in partnership. At the basis of this process we always want to pay the utmost attention to the social and economic sustainability of public interventions for citizens and businesses.

The approach to Open Innovation and social innovation that guide the activities of the Urban Digital Center are the push for the relaunch and it is essential to grasp the importance of European structural funds in the urban regeneration process, starting from digital as an enabling driver.

The Urban Digital Center is in perfect synergy with the Milano Digital Week, which sees the theme as the guidelines to follow and rely on an open and inclusive discussion: equity is a fundamental factor for regenerating a global system that has a more harmonious relationship between all its components. Sustainability is crucial in a historical moment in which society and the environment are increasingly inclined to collaborate, interacting on multiple factors.

The event, after an opening on the theme of open innovation by Luca Barbieri, journalist and entrepreneur, will see the succession of two tables moderated by Gianluigi Cogo of the Veneto Region: one table will be dedicated to the role of Open data in the process of urban development with experiences of experts such as Ilaria Vitellio, Francesco Piersoft Paolicelli and Matteo Fortini, and a second panel will be dedicated to innovation spaces in a regeneration process, which will involve Valentina Temporin of Poplab, Roberto Santolamazza of the certified incubator T2i and Francesco Musco of IUAV.

“Participation in the event is a great opportunity for Rovigo” declares the councilor for Innovation Luisa Cattozzo “because it allows us to illustrate the first Italian experience, and not only, of URBAN DIGITAL CENTER, combining the concept of Urban Center - a typically dedicated to the construction of participatory urban policies – to a digital innovation center”.

The event will be broadcast live on the YouTube channel of the “Urban Digital Center – InnovationLab” project.
