Coronavirus, the infection situation in Italy
There are under 200 patients in intensive care. The decline continues.
Milano, 16 June 2020 – The Department's commitment continues in the coordination activities of all the components and operational structures of the National Civil Protection Service.
In particular, as part of the health monitoring relating to the spread of the Coronavirus in our territory, as of today, 16 June, the total number of people who have contracted the virus is 237.500, with an increase compared to yesterday of 210 new cases.
The total number of currently positive is 24.569, with a decrease of 1.340 clients compared to yesterday.
Among the currently positive, 177 are being treated in intensive care, with a decrease of 30 patients compared to yesterday.
3.301 people are hospitalized with symptoms, a decrease of 188 patients compared to yesterday.
21.091 people, equal to 86% of the currently positive, are in isolation without symptoms or with mild symptoms.
Compared to yesterday, 34 died and bring the total to 34.405. The overall number of those discharged and recovered rises to 178.526, with an increase of 1.516 people compared to yesterday.
In detail, the currently positive cases are 15.233 in Lombardy, 2.450 in Piedmont, 1.405 in Emilia-Romagna, 718 in Veneto, 463 in Tuscany, 242 in Liguria, 1.129 in Lazio, 601 in the Marche, 273 in Campania, 353 in Puglia, 64 in the Autonomous Province of Trento, 806 in Sicily, 99 in Friuli Venezia Giulia, 468 in Abruzzo, 93 in the Autonomous Province of Bolzano, 18 in Umbria, 33 in Sardinia, 10 in Valle d'Aosta, 36 in Calabria, 65 in Molise and 10 in Basilicata.
