Americans Christina Koch, Victor Glover and Reid Wiseman, along with Canadian Jeremy Hansen will return to fly around the Moon after the last Apollo mission in 1972.
They will be on board the mission Artemis II, scheduled for end of 2024. Over the course of 10 days, the crew will fly behind the hidden face of the Luna, pushing further away from Terra than any human has ever done.
NASA's number one announces it Bill nelson, at an event at the Johnson Space Center in Houston.
The mission will be launched from Kennedy Space Center in Florida, with the American super rocket Space Launch System (SLS) and will serve to test the reliability and safety of the Orion shuttle, with the service module provided by the European Space Agency (ESA), in view of the moon landing planned with the mission Artemis III for 2025 or 2026.
