Copparo (Ferrara), extraordinary checks by the Carabinieri. Subject with an arrest warrant traced and student found in possession of drugs near a school

There were two days of checks by the Carabinieri of Copparo to prevent crimes against property but also those related to drugs.

In support of this activity, a Carabinieri Canine Unit from the Torreglia Nucleus (PD) was employed to carry out checks at the Copparo bus station and the main stops of Ro and Berra, often a place of gathering of students who go to the schools of Ferrara every morning.

The checks with the dog handlers also involved some school buildings in the Copparo area: and right at the entrance of one of these the German shepherd "Zico" smelled something and carried out a more thorough check a small amount of hashish was found in a student's backpack. He was then reported to the Prefecture for personal use of narcotics.
The same type of control activity was extended to public parks and sports areas, where around twenty young people were identified.

He was arrested in execution of a prison order for crimes against the person committed in previous years and for which he had been sentenced to ten months and two days of imprisonment. The service, which involved numerous patrols of the Copparo Company assisted by the Carabinieri Dog Unit of Torreglia (PD), allowed the identification of 70 people, 59 vehicles and the control of 8 people subjected to preventive measures.

The Carabinieri announced that extraordinary services in the area will continue even during the Christmas holidays, in order to guarantee greater safety for citizens, while inviting citizens to collaborate by immediately reporting any suspicious vehicle or behavior to the emergency number 112.
