Comacchio: The Carabinieri meet the students of the “Fattibello” elementary school to remember the Vice Brigadier Cristiano Scantamburlo

The fourth-grade students of the “Fattibello” primary school in Comacchio participated in a special meeting with the Carabinieri of the local Company, a moment of reflection and memory dedicated to Vice Brigadier Cristiano Scantamburlo, Gold Medal of Valor of the Carabinieri. Led by Lieutenant Lucilla Esposito, Commander of the Comacchio Carabinieri Company, and Lieutenant Piergiorgio Folli, Commander of the Station, the students listened with great attention the story of the heroic gesture of Cristiano Scantamburlo and why his figure is commemorated. The meeting was characterized by an exceptional participation by the children, some of whom already knew Cristiano's story thanks to the stories of their parents or grandparents, who had had the opportunity to meet him when he served in Comacchio.

Through simple but profound words, the Carabinieri explained the value of courage, duty and altruism, responding with great availability to the curious and respectful questions of the students. It was also illustrated significance of their participation in the commemorative ceremony on Saturday 15 February at 10:00 am, a solemn moment in which the community of Comacchio will pay homage to the Vice Brigadier, at the commemorative stone dedicated to him in San Giuseppe and, subsequently, at the Concathedral of San Cassiano in Comacchio and at the monument in the square of the “Scantamburlo” barracks, a place named after him and where the medal is kept.

The meeting ended with great interest and participation from the students, who asked questions and shared reflections on what they had learned. A valuable initiative, which brought young students closer to the values ​​of legality, justice and historical memory and allowed them to understand the importance of courage, sense of duty and sacrifice for the common good.
