Lido degli Estensi: he flees after causing an accident. 57-year-old convicted felon stopped by the Carabinieri.

On the evening of July 12th i Carabinieri of the Radiomobile Operations Unit of Comacchio and of the Lido degli Estensi station intervened for a road accident on the SS 309 “Romea” on the bridge that connects Porto Garibaldi and Lido degli Estensi.

From the first testimonies it emerged that, a few minutes before, an unknown person, aboard an SUV with a Dutch license plate, losing control of the vehicle, he invaded the oncoming lane and hit a camper and a car and then fled at high speed in the direction of Ravenna. A woman was injured in the impact but not seriously and was transported to the Delta Hospital in Lagosanto for treatment.

The Operations Center of the Comacchio Company, in the meantime, immediately alerted his colleagues in Ravenna and a patrol from the Mezzano station managed to track down and block the fugitive, a 57-year-old Italian criminal resident in the Netherlands. However, the man refused to take a breathalyzer test.

At the end of the investigations, the man was therefore referred for failure to provide aid following a road accident with injuries and refusal to undergo breathalyzer tests.
Once the Carabinieri's planimetric surveys were completed, the important road artery was reopened and traffic returned to normal after a few hours.
