In compliance with the rights of the persons under investigation, to be considered presumed innocent in consideration of the current stage of the proceedings, preliminary investigations, until a definitive determination of guilt with an irrevocable sentence, and in order to ensure the constitutionally guaranteed right to report, it is communicated that the Fermo Flying Squad has identified and reported five individuals of Tunisian nationality, for the crimes of aggravated damage, receiving stolen goods, illegal possession of weapons and objects capable of causing offence, as well as, for one of them, injuries caused to a citizen of Fermo by setting off a large dog that the accused had with him.
The facts date back to the night between August 21st and 22nd, when five individuals of North African nationality were reported to the Police by residents of the “Tre Archi” neighborhood for having damaged several parked cars on the public road, all with a knife that they were carrying.
Around 1:00 am, a strange coming and going was reported in the main streets of “Lido Tre Archi” and, in particular, people arguing among themselves, then going to Via Segni, where, the next morning, numerous cars with punctured tires were found.
Immediate investigations by the Flying Squad - Section I "Foreign Crime" allowed the collection of various testimonies and details of the criminal action that allowed the identification of the perpetrators of the crimes perpetrated on the night between 21 and 22 August 2024, who had caused a series of damages to parked cars, both by puncturing tires and damaging the side mirrors.
Furthermore, the person in the group who had caused injuries to a citizen, using a dog that was setting him on fire, was also identified. In addition, the men of the Flying Squad discovered that the five were using a car, stolen, reported a few days earlier by a citizen.
The descriptions given by citizens were decisive, as they indicated to the Police some details of the action, which also took place outside the neighborhood, where the individuals were noticed arguing among themselves, then disappearing and “reappearing” again in the streets of the neighborhood with a knife and a large dog in tow.
The individual identified as the aggressor has already been reported to the Judicial Authority for resisting a public official.
The control and prevention activity carried out by the State Police continues, aimed at protecting public safety, in compliance with the directives issued by the Police Chief of the Province of Fermo.
