Those were hours of apprehension in Brianza, in particular in Triuggio and Lissone where the Langones lived, the family originally from Potenza, who had moved to Mali a few months ago and who were apparently kidnapped in recent days. Rocco Langone 64 years old, his wife Maria Donata Caivano 63, had chosen Brianza and had lived in Triuggio for years, while their son, John, 42 years old, who lived in Lissone, had moved to Africa.

Another son lives in the Lecco area. The family, which is part of Jehovah's Witnesses, was well known in Brianza because it dedicated itself to many humanitarian activities. According to Farnesina sources they would have been armed men, last May 19th, in the Sincina area 100 km from Burkina Fasu to kidnap the family and with them a man from Togo.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced that the crisis unit is working to carry out checks and investigations into the kidnapping and that Minister Di Maio is taking an interest in the matter personally and has asked the family members for the strictest confidentiality. Numerous messages of solidarity both from the municipality of Ruoti, where the family came from, and from Triuggio where the mayor expressed closeness to the family members in the area. According to some acquaintances, both Rocco and his wife were happy with their choice to move.
