The second Italian flight with 40 tons of aid for the population of Gaza arrived in Jordan from Brindisi

The flight transported another 20 tons of food aid donated by Coldiretti and Confagricoltura and 20 tons of medical aid donated by the Red Cross.

The second Italian flight with 40 tons of aid for the population of Gaza arrived in Jordan from Brindisi

He left yesterday from UN-WFP Base (World Food Program) Of Toast with destination Amman the second humanitarian flight organized by Italy as part of the initiative "Food for Gaza“. The flight transferred other 20 tons of food aid donated by Coldiretti and Confagricoltura e 20 tons of medical aid donated by Red Cross.

“The Government continues to demonstrate its concrete commitment to the humanitarian situation in the Strip,” said the Foreign Minister. Antonio Tajani: “The Food for Gaza initiative has the consensus of both the Israeli and Palestinian authorities; it is a cooperative commitment that unites the efforts of the Italian System in coordination with International Organizations (FAO, WFP, International Red Cross and Red Crescent and NGOs) to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian population in Gaza”.

Yesterday's is the Second humanitarian flight organized by Italy, after the one carried out on July 17th, which also took off from the WFP base in Brindisi and is also headed to Amman. Food aid, as happened in July, will be entrusted to Jordan to the "Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization” (JHCO) who will take care of their subsequent entry into Gaza by land.

As part of the initiative, recently the following were delivered to the World Food Programme (Wfp) also 15 special IVECO trucks donated by Italy (for a value of over 2 million euros) who, once in Gaza, will remain inside the Strip and will be allocated to the internal distribution of international aid. Together with the trucks, on a ship departing from Ravenna, they will travel 15 more tons of medical aid donated by Italian Cooperation.

More aid will be collected and sent soon: the San Donato Group has already made available more than half a ton of drugs and medical devices that should leave with a next shipment at the beginning of 2025, while contacts have been initiated with various companies in the food and healthcare supply chains for new donations.
