Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, director of the WHO, spoke during the United Nations Security Council about the victims in the Gaza Strip and the current unsustainable situation.
Referring to the Gaza Strip, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director-General of the World Health OrganizationSaid “There is no safe place and no one is safe.” Particularly critical point are the hospitals in Gaza, left in darkness, without medicines. They would be about 250 attacks occurred from the beginning of the conflict to today, against health centers. “The situation on the ground is impossible to describe: hospital corridors full of the wounded, sick and dying, overflowing morgues, surgeries without anesthesia, tens of thousands of people taking refuge in hospitals”, explained the Director General of the World Health Organization. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus relaunches the appeal for peace by declaring that “understand the pain, anger and fear of the Israeli people, victims of the brutal and unjustified attack by Hamas”. The Director General of the Health Organization added that he is aware that “For the survivors and families of the victims, the mental consequences will be long-lasting.”
Currently the situation in Gaza Strip it is unsustainable and is described in the words of Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus: “The situation on the ground is impossible to describe: hospital corridors full of the wounded, sick and dying, overflowing morgues, surgeries without anesthesia, tens of thousands of people taking refuge in hospitals”.
