The G7 met in Tokyo: the Foreign Ministers, after discussing the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, confirm their willingness to support Kiev by continuing to sanction Moscow.
Having concluded the session of those present at the G7, dedicated to the situation in Ukraine, a note from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reads that the G7 “will accelerate medium- and long-term recovery and reconstruction efforts in the unity of the public and private sectors. It is necessary to carry forward the Peace Formula process together with international partners."
The conflict in the Middle East was also discussed during the meeting. The Foreign Minister of Japan, Yoko KamikawaSaid: “It is important that the G7 is united in sending a clear message to the international community that our firm commitment to support Ukraine will never waver”. Furthermore, the Japanese minister stated that “regarding North Korea, he stated that Japan remains seriously concerned about its intensified nuclear and missile activities” of Pyongyang. The shared intentions of the G7 are to send an international message, “even if tensions increase in the Middle East, it is important that the G7 is united in sending a clear message to the international community that our firm commitment to support Ukraine will not be never less,” added Yoko Kamikawa.
