Yesterday, February 7, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Antonio Tajani was on a mission in the Principality of Monaco and in France. In Monaco he met with Prince Albert II and the Minister of Foreign Affairs Isabelle Berro Amadei for strengthen economic and cultural relations with Italy. Subsequently, in Nice he participated in the second meeting of the Italian-French Border Cooperation Committee to discuss connectivity, cross-border mobility, regional development and cooperation in key areas such as health, tourism and education.

 

Yesterday, Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani was on a mission to the Principality of Monaco and France.

In Monaco the Minister met with the Prince Albert II and the Monegasque Foreign Minister, Isabelle Berro Amadei. "The state of relations between Italy and the Principality is excellent. We will further strengthen our solid ties, starting with economic and cultural cooperation. We will also talk about the large and increasingly dynamic Italian community residing in the Principality.or” declared Tajani.

The Minister, therefore, He went to Nice to participate in the second meeting of the Italian-French Border Cooperation Committee together with the French Foreign Minister, Jean-Noël Barrot, with which it also had a bilateral meeting. The Committee's work, which focused primarily on the theme of connectivity, will involve not only the Italian and French central administrations but also representatives of the border regions, as well as the metropolitan cities, provinces and municipalities most affected.

 "We must continue along the path we outlined last year at the Turin meeting, starting with the mobility of cross-border crossings. Ensuring connectivity means promoting the development and competitiveness of our territories." declared Minister Tajani, recalling how thepolitical and technical cooperation between Italy and France is essential to allow the full functionality of the Mont Blanc, Fréjus and Tenda tunnels. L'the objective is to arrive as quickly as possible at the inauguration of the second Fréjus road tunnel and the new Tenda tunnel by removing any possible political, technical and bureaucratic obstacles upon completion of the works.
