Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani visited four Palestinian children hospitalized at the Policlinico Regina Margherita in Turin, who arrived in Italy for cancer treatment thanks to a humanitarian operation coordinated by the government. During the visit, the extension of health care to other urgent sectors, such as prosthetics, was discussed.

On the occasion of his mission to Turin for the inauguration of the academic year of the Polytechnic, yesterday, Friday 21 February, Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani visited four Palestinian children who are currently being treated at the Regina Margherita Polyclinic Hospital, thanks to the availability of the Piemonte region.

I The little patients, together with their families, arrived in Italy last February 13th, part of the group of fourteen children with cancer who had left Gaza through the Rafah crossing and brought to Egypt in an operation made possible thanks to the synergy between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Defense and the Department of Civil Protection.

On the occasion of the visit, Tajani discussed with the President of the Region Alberto Cirio and other authorities present the possibility of extending care for Palestinian children to other health sectors of which there is particular urgency, including that of prostheses.Tajani a Torino: la visita ai piccoli pazienti palestinesi in cura al Regina Margherita

The initiative is part of the larger “Food for Gaza” program, thanks to which Italy has been at the forefront of its humanitarian efforts since the early stages of the crisis in the Middle East.
