The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Hon. Antonio Tajani, participated today in the videoconference meeting of the G7+ Foreign Ministers on support for the energy sector in Ukraine.

The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Hon. Antonio Tajani, participated today in the videoconference meeting of the G7+ Foreign Ministers on support for the energy sector in Ukraine.
The discussion focused on Ukraine's energy needs and the concrete actions that the G7+ countries can implement, in light of the new Russian attacks on the country's energy infrastructure and in view of the approaching winter season.
“Continuous coordination action by the G7+ is essential for support Kiev in repairing, rebuilding and protecting its network transmission and energy production plants” commented Tajani on the sidelines of the meeting, adding that “The Government is ready to support Ukrainian energy infrastructure with multiple initiatives and will continue to keep a high focus on Ukraine and its reconstruction both in 2024 during the Italian Presidency of the G7 and in 2025 when we host the Ukraine Recovery Conference.”
At the meeting, chaired by US Secretary of State Blinken and Japanese Vice Foreign Minister Iwao Horii (as the G7 Presidency), in addition to the group of G7 Foreign Ministers, the Foreign Ministers of the Central and Eastern European countries particularly involved in the Ukraine dossier, the High Representative of the European Union and representatives of UNDP and European Energy Community.
The video conference confirmed the excellent coordination between partners G7 + in the firm support for Ukraine in the various areas involved and in the simultaneous pressure on Moscow with the aim of creating the conditions for the start of a negotiation path towards an overall, just and lasting peace, to be pursued also through dialogue with the main global players.
